Veneers were invented by California dentist Charles Pincus in 1928.
The first “hollywood veneers” were made out of acrylic to change the look of an actor’s teeth. These veneers were glued on with denture glue.

etched tooth enamel. The struggle faced back then was getting these veneers to stay on.
Then, In 1982 researchers discovered that a bond could be made between the etched tooth enamel, composite resins, and porcelain. These findings showed that porcelain veneers could be bonded onto the surface of a tooth permanently.
